COHB Bands and Locations

Band with Mr. Tom Rye, Mr. David Bellows and Mr. Vernon Vincent

Central Oklahoma Homeschool Bands has rehearsal locations spread across much of the state of Oklahoma. This fall, we are adding an intermediate, beginning, and string program in the Ponca City area. Mr. Vincent will be conducting these bands. Other proposed band locations for the Fall of 2007 include Bartlesville, Owasso, and Enid.

COHB offers a variety of levels for your student. All bands rehearse once a week for 1 and 1/2 hours.

Beginning Band

Beginning Band is for first year students with little or no instrumental experience in playing an instrument.

Beginning Band programs are located in Ardmore, Chickasha, Dibble, Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Norman, Stillwater, Shawnee and Yukon.

Intermediate Band

Intermediate Band is the band for students with at least one year of instrumental experience, either band or private instruction.

Intermediate Band programs are located in Ardmore, Chickasha, Dibble, Oklahoma City, Midwest City, Norman, Stillwater and Shawnee.

Advanced Band

Designed for the more advanced student, Advanced Band is for more experienced players.

Wind Ensemble

Open by audition only, the Wind Ensemble is a small group of our most advanced players.

The Advanced Band and the Wind Ensemble rehearse only in Oklahoma City.

Need Help With An Instrument?

You and your student are welcome to come to my studio in Edmond to try out the many different musical instruments that are available. Once your student chooses an instrument, you will be faced with several decisions: New? Used? Rent? Lease? Purchase?

After the student has decided on an instrument, I can be assistance in finding the right instrument for your student at the right price. I recommend the purchase of a good used instrument instead of purchasing a new one. I have, or can get, very good instruments at great prices.

Rent/Lease to Own:

Most area music stores offer plans that last 18-24 months for both new and used instruments. Prices for these instruments range from $20 to $40 per month.

I would be glad to assist you in finding the right instrument for the best price.

If you find a good buy on a used instrument, or if you already have an instrument, I will be happy to check it out for you to make sure that it is usable .
